- Hello Ninon , can you please introduce yourself and tell us about your journey to becoming a dietician/nutritionist?
My name is Ninon, I am 44 years old and have 2 children, Jeanne & Pierre, of whom I am very proud.
At 40, it was time for me to take stock of all these years and draw some conclusions; I was not happy in my life and my children were suffering the consequences and that was not acceptable!
So I decided to take my life back into my own hands, no one could have done it better than me :) .
I resumed my studies, registering at the CNED for the BTS in dietetics, with the aim of being able to combine my passion and my work and regain independence.
Learning, moving forward, growing, and becoming the more peaceful and happier version of myself was my new mission!
I immediately set up as a freelancer after validating my diploma, and since then I have continued to train regularly.
I also did several massage training courses, with the aim of diversifying my activity but above all to be able to offer my patients the chance to reconnect with their bodies.
Taking care of others, I like to pass on my knowledge and provide the best possible support to people who want to take care of their health.
- What advice would you like to share with women for a balanced life?
1. Watch your diet
You can't take care of your health if you don't take care of your diet. You can enjoy a healthy and balanced diet, without dieting or restrictions, by listening to your body!
2. Become aware of your body
Your body is capable of doing much more than you think!
To become aware of your body's resources, it is important to move. Choose a physical activity that you enjoy and that you can integrate sustainably into your daily life.
3. Sleep well
Sleep is a mood booster. You probably don't know it, but sleep helps regulate your emotional functions on a daily basis. Your body therefore needs good sleep so that it can react properly and function optimally.
Melatonin (sleep hormone) regulates hormonal balance in the body.
4. Take time for yourself
Taking a break is good!
The need to recharge your batteries is essential in everyday life. Taking a break means giving yourself time to stop, release tension, without thinking about what you will have to do later. It means reconnecting with yourself and with others. It means taking a moment to devote yourself to what you love.
- Products to avoid or favor for hormonal balance?
Hormones are only partially conditioned by genetics; the regulation of hormonal secretion is largely influenced by environmental factors and diet plays a major role.
Adopt an anti-inflammatory diet
Chronic inflammation is a state of immune deficiency, perfect for hormonal imbalance, because it alters hormonal production and communication in the body. More specifically, it hinders both the production and effects of progesterone. Thus, the hormonal system will have difficulty compensating for the effects of estrogen. Inflammation also prevents the proper detoxification of estrogen (which takes place in the digestive system) and hyper-sensitizes to it. This therefore contributes to worsening the imbalance on the estrogen side.
An anti-inflammatory diet involves focusing on foods that help fight chronic inflammation, a major risk factor for many diseases.
There is no single food that is most anti-inflammatory, but several foods have significant anti-inflammatory properties.
Focus on antioxidant-rich vegetables and fruits: Eat a variety of colorful vegetables and fruits, which contain powerful antioxidants to fight inflammation.
Opt for lean proteins: Choose lean protein sources like chicken, turkey, fish and legumes.
Eat good fats: Omega-3 fatty acids, found in oily fish, nuts and seeds, are essential for reducing inflammation.
Avoid processed foods: Limit your intake of processed and high-sugar foods, which can worsen inflammation.
Drink plenty of water: Hydration is essential for flushing out toxins and supporting immune function.
-What are your future plans?
I am starting training as a naturopath to complement the BTS dietetics course with a more holistic approach that suits me better today.
-A little mantra to finish?
I listen to my body deeply and intuitively ;)
